Mechanical Engineer

Job Duties: Provide design assistance for moderately complex engineering assignments including products, parts, components, or portions of major projects; work on Cummins high horse power diesel engine parts e.g. breather, exhaust, manifold, EGT sensors, Turbo water plumbing, cylinder head and valve cover to meet Tier IV environmental norms; use CAD and analysis tool Pro E WF and Creo surfacing, Ansys, Creo simulation static, Dynamic and Mechanism for part design of diesel engine; design and develop engine parts with the help of technical calculations, tolerance stack up analysis, material engineering, bolt joint design and several design tools such as sigma minitab, tolerance loop, Creo CAD software, Ansys analysis tools, GT suite for computational fluid analysis, dimension variation analysis; prepare DF MEA and engineering standard task lists during design life cycle; work closely with industrial design team to convert their input into useful 3D models; responsible for the design and validation of engine parts; complete design cycle through technical reviews; performance-test engine parts and prepare the test plan and setup for all of the hydraulics parts; review the test plan of sourced product to determine whether data in first piece report is valid; direct interaction with supplier regarding issues and DQR (Drawing quality review) concerns.

Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering and 5 years of experience in Engineering. Time split evenly between two worksites in Bartholomew and Jackson County.

Has ability to make engineering drawings, and read and interpret blueprints. The technical skills include the ability to make sketches and engineering drawings and have experience using computer applications related to the engineering field.
Education/Experience
  • Bachelor degree in engineering required
  • 1-7 years experience preferred

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Sketch outline designs and use computer-aided design for detailed design, generating parts lists and specifications
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas
  • Consult with the marketing department about upgrading the product, failures in service and reducing the cost
  • Consult with the development engineers about new products and the application of novel technology
  • Consider various factors of engineering drawings or diagrams, including use of the product, its environment, materials, the economics of production, safety, legal requirements, quality, production requirements, cost and ease of maintenance

FEA Engineer

Summary: FEA engineer responsibilities comprise structural designing, development, and testing of finite element models designed for engineering purposes. Verifies the structured models and validates its representation of structural behavior. Determine the internal stress and extract interface load of the models, especially near the structural joints. Monitor other engineering activities and provide technical solution based on analysis results for developing an optimal design.
Education/Experience

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Participating finite element modeling for analyzing the problems related to thermal and thermo-fluids environment; comparing the results with analysis in both high and low temperature ranges
  • Creating finite element models of various parts based on the analysis result, assembling the same with respect to linear and non-linear structural domain
  • Running finite element modeling in various environment for checking its feasibility in structural, thermal, and vibration domain, conducting finite element analysis in electrical, electro-magnetic and multi-physics environment, and performing analytical studies for analyzing the mechanism of kinematics, dynamics, and force analysis
  • Preparing strategic planning for handling additional CAE modeling processes and participating in FEA & CFD developmental processes and other engineering programs for creating new product designs or implementing the modification of existing designs as per new requirements
  • Accelerating product development processes for meeting customer requirements
  • Coordinating with the staff involves in test and analysis of finite element modeling, providing actual solution to FEA model, and interpreting the analysis results accordingly for providing the best possible solution to the same
  • Interpreting analysis results with respect to results obtained by lab testing procedures, converting these results into practical design templates based on given geometry model, and providing structural support to designing and certification groups
  • Writing test plans for finite element modeling, data collection process, and model calibration and correlation studies, providing various mechanical and electrical system component for analysis purpose by using various analytical methods and engineering tools (e.g. MathCAD, MATLAB, Excel, etc.)
  • Writing reports for summarizing the analysis results and reviewing all project-related analysis results for ensuring the accuracy of project reports
